COEVAL’S PROPOSED CARBON REDUCTION PLAN

Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Coeval Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for its UK operations. This is only a draft plan and we aim to have the plan ready by January 2026.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline Year: 2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations:

This baseline year was selected as it represents the first comprehensive year of measurement across Scopes 1, 2, and key categories of Scope 3. Prior to this, no structured emissions reporting was undertaken. Scope 3 calculations were based on estimated procurement and travel data, refined using DEFRA 2022 emission factors.

Baseline year emissions:

EMISSIONS  TOTAL (tCO₂e)
Scope 1  42.5
Scope 2  31.7
Scope 3 (Included Sources: business travel, employee commuting, upstream transport, purchased goods and services, waste)  154.8
Total Emissions  229.0

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2024

EMISSIONS  TOTAL (tCO₂e)
Scope 1  38.1
Scope 2  19.2
Scope 3 (Included Sources: business travel, employee commuting, upstream transport, purchased goods and services, waste)  138.6
Total Emissions  195.9

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress toward achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:

  • We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 183.2 tCO₂e by 2026, a 20% reduction from the 2022 baseline.
  • By 2030, we aim to reduce emissions by 50% compared to the 2022 baseline.
  • Our long-term goal is to reduce emissions by 90% by 2040 and reach Net Zero by 2050.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these

schemes equates to approximately 33.1 tCO₂e, a 14.5% reduction against the 2022 baseline. These measures will remain in effect when performing the contract.

  • Introduced 3 electric vehicles (EVs) into the service fleet.
  • Launched remote diagnostics and remote commissioning technologies to reduce travel to site.
  • Promoted virtual meetings to reduce business travel.
  • Implemented a zero-to-landfill policy for electronics waste and packaging.
  • Engaged suppliers to reduce packaging and increase recycled content in goods purchased.

Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives

In the future, we aim to implement additional measures such as:

  • Full electrification of our company vehicle fleet by 2027.
  • Expansion of on-site renewable energy generation capacity by 40% by 2028.
  • Introduction of carbon impact assessments into all product design and procurement processes.
  • ISO 14064-1 certification by 2030.
  • Sustainable procurement policy to include embodied carbon scoring from 2026 onward.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and the reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol – Corporate Standard, using the appropriate UK Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
