Birmingham based Coeval are this year celebrating thirty years trading in the Highways Industry Sector and the Company has changed significantly in the three years since the current owners bought the business back in November 2013. Managing Director Gary Higgins explains. ‘’I became aware of Coeval almost 20 years ago when I was working for Traffic Signals UK / Microsense. Indeed, I tried to buy the company at the time, but they were not for sale. So after discovering a few years ago that the company was now for sale, I decided to make a move’’. The Company at the time were supplying School Warning and Vehicle Activated Signs along with Speed Indicator Displays mainly to the Scottish market and Overheight Vehicle Detection Systems to London. Since the acquisition the Company has seen significant growth within the rest of the UK and Ireland and has moved into other associated markets, again Mr Higgins explains.
‘’Annual sales have increased by 83% since we acquired the business just over three years ago, sales alone in March were £385,000 compared to £156,000 last year, whilst our order intake over the last six months compared to the comparative six months last year has shown a 174% increase. With the new products we are bringing to market this year, things certainly aren’t going to slow down anytime soon.’’
